Oak Flooring

Production of traditional oak flooring has been the back bone of our business since conception.  We are able to offer the flooring dried down to a standard 10-12% or in re-kilned format dried to 6% amc (average moisture content).

Our best value for money oak flooring (Trade packs) - 120m2

Our trade packs of flooring still offer best value for money.  These packs are available in 3 widths, ranging from 100 – 200mm.  There are no short lengths with the majority being between 2-4m in length.  The origin of the timber is predominantly from France, although at times English boarding is added as available.  The grading of the timber is basically a cross section through the whole tree, which gives a variety of grades through the packs, being rustic where there are occasional through knots giving beautiful wild grain effects, character giving machinable knots and clear without knots. Put these together in the 3 widths and a really traditional rustic/character floor will be achieved. These are normally machined as tongue and groove, unless otherwise requested.  Due to the fact that the timber is not re-selected an approximate allowance should be made for waste from the material, this being in the form of end splits from kilning and through knots having to be cut from a few boards.  But even given this 10% waste factor you will still achieve an incredibly economical, real oak floor below the cost of good engineered or laminated material.  This product is not always available so we recommend early procurement in order to avoid disappointment.

Premium Oak Flooring

This is produced from a selected timber which is free from large through knots with minimal waste from defects. This will give a more regimented look to your floor than our Trade packs, although there will be less wild grain.  If you are not looking for a rustic/character floor, this is the product to go for.  As you will see from our pricing sheet we offer good quantity discounts and believe our real oak flooring to be the best value for money available in the UK.

Our current production runs are in the region of 1 acre of flooring per month, giving our customers a guarantee of supply and realistic lead times.  We are happy to despatch samples of our flooring products but would strongly recommend personal visits to our showroom.

Technical Specifications

Machining either central T&G, square edge or secret nail profile. A chamfer can be added if requiredThe boards are finished at 19mm thickness without stress relief grooves, as we feel stress relief grooves discard the installers preferred face choice, and also do not have proven benefit.  All boards are kiln dried to between 10-12% humidity unless otherwise specified.

With regard to laying the oak floors we have a wealth of experience and advice to give using many preferred methods.  For more information on these and products available please contact one of our advisors on 01676 540070.
